FOR PARENTS
Junior Nibblers & Child Safety
Short version: kids take part through a parent, in their own non-competitive track, and we collect almost nothing about them. This page is the long version — exactly how it works, in plain language.
1. A Parent Is Built Into Every Junior Account
- Parent-linked by design. A Junior Nibblers account is linked to an adult's account. There is no standalone kid account.
- Signup needs the parent. A junior joins with a parent's email address and the parent's consent.
- Nothing counts until a parent signs off. When a kid submits a Challenge Training activity, the linked adult reviews and signs off on it first. Only then are points earned and the next tier unlocked.
2. Non-Competitive — By Design, Not by Promise
- The real challenge board is 18+ only. Competitive food challenges — the timed, eat-it-all kind — are for adults.
- Juniors are listed separately. Junior Nibblers are never ranked against adults and never appear on the competitive board.
- The junior track is lifestyle, not eating contests. It's called Challenge Training: Daily Chore, Clean Your Plate, and Workout activities in five gentle, progressive tiers. Kids build good habits; they do not race a clock against a pile of food.
3. Almost No Data on Kids
- Under-13 registration is minimal: first name, last initial, and state/country. That's it — nothing more is collected at signup.
- No public profiles for juniors beyond that minimal listing in their own separate, non-competitive division.
4. Photos Are Reviewed Before Anyone Sees Them
- Location data is stripped. Uploaded photos are re-encoded, which removes EXIF/GPS location data from the file.
- Every photo waits for a human OK. Member challenge photos — including the Crew Photos panels on country pages — sit in an approval queue. Only approved photos ever appear on the site.
5. The Safety Rules, in Writing
Our Eating Guide carries a Safety First section on every read, and it applies to the whole brand:
- Fun, not a dare. Stop if you feel ill. Never attempt a challenge alone.
- Check with a doctor first if there is any health condition.
- Juniors sit the competitive part out — that line is printed in the guide itself, not just here.
Questions From a Parent?
